Overview
Enjoy a unique and delightful tour of the pyramids at Saqqara and Dahshur. Start by visiting the Step Pyramid, the first pyramid ever constructed, followed by the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid, both located in Dahshur.
Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and transfer you to Dahshur. First, visit the Red Pyramid, named for the color of its stone, built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu, the father of Khufu. Next, explore the Bent Pyramid, considered the first true pyramid, as previous pyramids were all step-shaped.
Afterward, travel to Saqqara to visit the Step Pyramid, the most significant structure in the Saqqara necropolis, south of Memphis. This pyramid is considered the prototype for the Giza pyramids and other remaining Egyptian pyramids.
Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
Conclude your tour with a visit to one of the Seven Wonders of the World—the Great Pyramid of Cheops, built for King Khufu. Your visit will also include the other Pyramids of Giza: the Pyramid of Khafre (built for King Khafra, son of Khufu), and the Pyramid of Menkaure (the smallest, built for King Menkaure, son of Khafra and grandson of Khufu). Don’t miss the Sphinx, with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, as well as the Temple of the Valley, located next to the Pyramid of Khafre.
Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
