The trip was well woeth the long plane ride.Posted on bfornisVerified One of the best tours and guide Excellent 8 day trip and the guide Hossam was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history in all cities, kind, patient, and attended to all our needs. He even helped us negotiate prices for souvenirs and stayed with the group the entire 8 days. One of my most memorable trips seeing artifacts, tombs, pyramids and all that Egypt has to offer. Hossam is one of the best guides I have ever experienced. Egypt is safe also!Posted on 197arlenejVerified The Absolute Best Trip My group of 9 actually did an 8 day tour of Egypt. We spent the first three days in Cairo. Our first meal was an authentic Egyptian one. There were no tourists in sight. The family style meal was the perfect way to introduce us to genuine egyptian cuisine. Over the next couple of days we did Giza, rode the camels, shopped a number of local stores and markets, visited several religious sites as well as the brand new museum. Hossam Have us experience local ice cream parlors and some of the best juice stands in Cairo. We flew to Aswan and toured it before boarding a riverboat for a cruise up the Nile. During the cruise, we went to Abu Simbel and Nubian village and even traveled by small boat back to our riverboat! We were seeing everyday Egypt and not just the tourist sites! We also went to Valley of the Kings, a Light Show, and experienced an actual sandstorm which caused us to not be able to do the Hot Air balloons. We had lunch at Happy Farms and Cafe and they had the absolute best food, because the vegetables came straight out of their garden! We flew from Luxor back to Cairo, spent the night in a wonderful hotel near the airport and sadly, our trip had come to an end.I was super impressed with the way Hossam handled everything. One of our group members felt ill and he even knew where the ambulance was parked so that she could be checked out! Hossam Is highly knowledgeable. I like that he used mini-receivers so that we could hear him talk while we did our tour. We did so much in our 8 days and truly got our money's worth. I cannot praise him enough for all he did to make this the absolute best trip to Egypt!Posted on Abanoub WVerified Unforgettable Fayoum Adventure "Amazing Experience in Fayoum!"I had the pleasure of visiting Fayoum recently, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, from the serene lakes to the stunning landscapes. The tour was well-organized, and every detail was taken care of. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and very attentive, making the whole trip smooth and enjoyable.Posted on Patty RVerified Amazing Experience Had such an amazing experience thanks to Bastat Tours. We take with us a beautiful experience, memories and a piece of Egypt in our hearts. Thank you!!!Posted on Tanya LVerified Amazing 2 day tour of Cairo! Hossam was an incredible tour guide. He planned a custom itinerary for us that included the pyramids, the Sphinx, the souk, an herb wellness store, the museum of civilization plus old Cairo churches and synagogues, the citadel and a secret tasting tour that introduced us to the best flavours of Cairo. We had two days and he filled up the agenda based on our interests. We were two female travellers and we felt completely safe as we were picked up right from the airport, Hossam helped us check in to our hotel and handled all the tips etc... and took good care of us. Our driver Ahmed was a hero navigating the streets and traffic which is no easy task! There is truly no better way to see Cairo than a private tour with Hossam and Ahmed. Absolutely recommend them!Posted on Navarro01150189364Verified Coptic Cairo Marvels: Bastet Tours Nails It Bastet Tours exceeded all expectations! Yes, Egypt is generally a safe destination for tourists. Millions of travelers visit Egypt every year to explore its ancient wonders, vibrant culture, and beautiful landscapes without any problems. The government has made significant efforts to ensure the safety of visitors, especially in major tourist areas like Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, and the Red Sea resorts. Like any travel destination, it’s important to stay aware of your surroundings, follow local advice, and stick to well-known routes and tour operators.
Planning a trip to Egypt involves several important steps to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Here’s a guide to help you plan:
Decide on Your Travel Dates: Egypt has a hot desert climate, so the best times to visit are during the cooler months, from October to April. The summer months (May to September) can be extremely hot, especially in areas like Luxor and Aswan.
Choose Your Destinations: Egypt is full of fascinating places to visit. Some of the top attractions include:
Cairo: Visit the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum.
Luxor: Explore the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple.
Aswan: Discover the Philae Temple and enjoy a Nile River cruise.
Red Sea Resorts: Relax in Sharm El-Sheikh or Hurghada for beautiful beaches and water activities.
Book Your Flights: Look for flights to Cairo International Airport or other regional airports depending on your planned destinations. Compare prices across various booking platforms and try to book in advance for better rates.
Apply for a Visa: Most travelers will need a visa to enter Egypt. You can get a visa on arrival at the airport or apply for an e-visa online before your trip.
Plan Your Accommodation: Egypt offers a range of accommodation options, from luxury resorts to budget hotels. Choose based on your preferences and travel style. Popular areas to stay include Cairo, Luxor, and the Red Sea resorts.
Create an Itinerary: Decide how long you’ll spend in each location. Include time for sightseeing, relaxation, and cultural experiences. Make sure to balance busy days with some downtime.
Arrange Transportation: Consider how you'll get around in Egypt. Domestic flights, trains, and buses are common options for long distances, while taxis, ride-hailing apps, and private drivers are useful for short distances.
Research Local Culture and Etiquette: Learn a few basic Arabic phrases, as well as cultural norms and customs. Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country, so dressing modestly and being respectful of local traditions is important.
Pack Appropriately: Follow a packing list for Egypt, including lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and comfortable shoes for sightseeing. Don’t forget a camera, as Egypt offers incredible photo opportunities.
Stay Safe: While Egypt is generally safe for tourists, always stay informed about the current security situation and follow local advice. It’s also a good idea to have travel insurance that covers health and emergencies.
By carefully planning these aspects, you’ll have a memorable and hassle-free trip to Egypt.
When packing for your trip to Egypt, it's essential to bring lightweight, breathable clothing such as cotton or linen for the hot weather, along with comfortable walking shoes for exploring historical sites. Remember to pack a scarf for modesty when visiting religious locations, and swimwear if you're staying at a resort. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen to protect yourself from the intense sun, as well as a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during your adventures. If you're traveling in cooler months or visiting the desert, include a jacket or sweater for the evenings.
You can obtain a visa to visit Egypt in several ways, depending on your nationality and travel plans:
e-Visa (Online Application): Many travelers can apply for an electronic visa (e-Visa) online through the official Egypt e-Visa Portal. The process is quick and simple, usually taking 3–7 business days.
Visa on Arrival: Available for citizens of certain countries, allowing you to purchase a visa at the airport upon arrival in Egypt.
Embassy or Consulate Application: If you're not eligible for an e-Visa or visa on arrival, you may need to apply in person at the nearest Egyptian embassy or consulate.
Yes, many women travel solo in Egypt and have a rewarding experience. However, as with any destination, it’s important to take certain precautions. Solo female travelers should dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees), avoid walking alone late at night, and be cautious in less crowded areas. Egyptian people are generally warm and welcoming, and being respectful of the local culture goes a long way in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable trip.
